Founder of Arctic Guardian, James Drayton, is a former Active-Duty soldier serving in the 101st Airborne Division’s Long Range Surveillance Detachment, and former Peace Officer for Merced County California serving on the Merced Area Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET).

James recognized an opportunity for Law Enforcement and Military personnel to strengthen their mission readiness despite tightening budgets within their local and government agencies. This is done through a grass-roots movement that privately funds vocational, specialized equipment and tuition support. The organization’s efforts culminate yearly in mid-June with an annual meeting, focus groups, committee workshops, awards and an inter-service marksmanship competition held near Talkeetna, Alaska.
